So, January - what an exciting month! Amy celebrated a birthday and Piper learned new tricks! One of her newest tricks is saying words. She has been babbling for some time now and has been saying some words for quite a while, but it seems that lately she has been saying more. She now clearly says "Daddy" and "Thank You". Just last week she started saying "Mama" and actually used it yesterday because she couldn't see where I was. This is very exciting for me (Amy).
Piper's obsession with body parts continues as well. She is now intimately familiar with not only her own belly button but the belly buttons of many others. The eyes, nose, ears and mouth seem next on the list to conquer.
Piper had Cowboy/Cowgirl dress-up day at school one Friday (only in Texas...). She looked super cute in her pink cowboy boots and plaid skirt.

Piper really enjoys fingerpainting, so I have decided to start doing it with her at home. The paint is easy to wash out of clothes, but we put on one of Kurt's old t-shirts just to be safe. I think she gets more on her body than she does the paper.

It has been pretty cold here lately, so Piper got a chance to wear all of her "real" winter clothes. It even snowed one day and school was out so Piper got to stay home with Amy. She LOVED the snow! She especially liked the crunching sound it made under her boots. She stomped back and forth all over the place.

One of the most exciting things that has happened lately is that Piper is starting to use utensils when she eats. No more monkey eating (and throwing) but this method seems to be just as messy. She loves to eat with her spoon and we are using the "scoop it and eat it" voice coach, fingers crossed praying that the majority of the food ends up in her mouth method, but as you can see, it doesn't always work out that way. It's really funny though and she thinks it is so fun and she is very proud of herself when she is successful.

We hope you had a great January too!
