March 2007

March was a great month for the Greene's. It started out with a visit from Amy's parents. They spent a long weekend here in Texas and helped us usher in spring with warmer weather and allergies galore. The highlight of the visit was a trip to the zoo. Piper seemed to enjoy it and had a great time playing in the sand box. Here are some pictures from their visit.

St. Patrick's Day came and went with only a few little pinches. We kinda forgot it was St. Patrick's day, so we threw a green bow in her hair at the last minute even though it doesn't match the rest of her outfit...

We went to visit some of Kurt's family in Boston at the end of the month. However, the trip was super short and we pretty much forgot to take pictures all together. Hopefully someone will email us some as we know there were some taken, it just never was with our camera.
Piper is learning to do new things all the time and is becoming increasingly more aware of what's going on around her. She is experiencing another round of separation anxiety as well and SCREAMS whenever we leave her for any reason. She also always wants to be held but who can blame her! We will get through it and will probaby long for these moments in the years to come.
She is learning new words each day and continue to new learn new signs. Recently she learned the sign for "please" and "book". We are trying to teach her to say functional words that will help her let us know what she wants or needs instead of just grunting or crying at us for it. She is doing really well and it's amazing how much she can repeat and how much more she actually understands. We can give her direction like "put this in the trash please" and she will do it.
We hope that you all have a very Happy Easter!
