Summer in Chattanooga

Things are still wild and crazy here in Chattanooga as we continue to get "settled in". Do you ever get truly settled in???? I hope so as this has been a LONG move! Stella continues to grow and becomes more delightful everyday. She has the sweetest smile although I have yet to capture her toothless grin on camera as they pass quickly. I will work toward that for my next blog posting as it is priceless. She is a great eater and sleeper and is already sleeping through the night...what have we done to deserve her?

Piper is also full of life and personality. She started ore-school this past Monday at The Montessori School here in Chattanooga. It seems to be going well - no tears have been shed as far as I know - hooray! Here is a quick update on what we have been up to.

We continue to enjoy the Coolidge park carousel and fountain. Piper is infatuated with the carousel and will do just about anything to ride it. She always rides a horse and shows me which animal Stella will ride when she is old enough. Stella rides the carousel in her car seat but I have to pull the shade over her eyes because they tend to look everywhere an nowhere at the same time - that is a recipe for puke!

This is Stella's favorite hang out spot. We put her in her bouncy seat in the middle of the room and everytime we walk by we stop and say hi to her - we usually get a big grin or maybe even a chuckle!

Piper has fallen in love with one of the many pleasures of summer - ice cream! In this picture she is enjoying a heapin' helpin' of Mint Chocolate Chip.

Another of Piper's favorite summertime treats is swimming! In these pictures we are swimming in a kiddie pool with her friend Allison. Piper and Allison have developed a great friendship and spend lots of time together!

Piper and I took a trip to the Aquarium last Tuesday. Piper had a great time and enjoyed the salt water tanks the best.

In this picture she is yelling "Memo (Nemo), Memo, Memo" at the top of her lungs. She is inside a crawl space that puts you in the middle of the tank...

My work here is done...this is Piper on the way home from the aquarium...

We went to see an Imax movie with our friend Allison and her Mommy Laurie. It was called Dolphins and Whales. It was in 3-D, which freaked Piper out a bit - I believe the quote was something like "They aren't going to get me?". After she got used to it she really enjoyed the movie. After the movie we went to a little candy store downtown and the girls took a ride on a carousel.

These are a couple of pictures from last weekend - we found this outfit for Stella for our upcoming beach trip and couldn't resist trying it on her...

This is one of a bunch of pictures I took of Stella but all the rest of them were blurry...

Finally, the coolest thing in our life right now is Piper's infatuation with becoming a ballerina. Since she is doing so well with her potty training, we let her start taking ballerina classes. This is her on her first day...she told me as we were getting out of the car "I'm so proud of me..."

That's all there is to report right now...stay tuned for another update after we return from the beach!
