November, December and January

November

November was a busy month for us but we were able to travel to Birmingham, AL to visit with Amy's family for Thanksgiving. Piper had a great time seeing her grandparents, aunts and uncles. She also saw Amy's cousin, Adam, who is 13. She fell in love upon laying eyes on him and he is now her new favorite family member. Adam was really sweet with her and patient as she was his shadow pretty much the whole time. Here is a picture of the two of them relaxing on the couch.

Before Thanksgiving, Amy's parents took Piper to Chuck E Cheese, which she loves. The problem with Chuck E. Cheese's is that it's hard to get a picture of the FRONT of your child. But, I managed to get a few cute ones of her playing skee ball her way!

This is a favorite ride (Clifford the Big Red Dog)!

December

Next on the agenda was Christmas. We were blessed with a houseful here in TX. We had Kurt's brother and his family (Craig, Michelle, Austen -9 and Jackson -13) as well as Kurt's birth mother Annie, Amy's parents and Amy's sister visiting. We had a great time but failed to get a group picture which is a bummer. As with Adam, Piper loved spending time with Jackson and Austen and asked where they were for several days after they left. She also likes "Uncle Dead" (Uncle craig) and Aunt Shel.

Piper really got into Santa this year and seemed to grasp the basics of who he is and what he does. Next year should be interesting! She really enjoyed all of her Santa Claus gifts in addition to the gifts given to her by friends and family.

Craig, Michelle and the boys are big New England Patriots fans, so they rubbed off on Piper. They had her saying "Go Pats" before it was all said and done.

Here are some of the highlights from Christmas morning. Piper insisted that we open and experience each gift immediately, including clothing which turned into a fashion show...

We went bowling the day after Christmas, which was Piper's first bowling trip. She had a great time although her bowling skills need some work. I think her favorite parts were the shoes and the air blower.

January

January has brought cold temperatures and wind to Texas. So, we have retreated indoors for the most part. Piper and Amy traveled to Knoxville on New Year's Day so that Amy could then drive to Knoxville for a company meeting. Piper had a GREAT time visiting Oma and Pop and their collection of animals (two dogs and a cat). We also got another visit from Aunt Shel as she was in town on business.

We went to lunch with some friends and their daughter Yasmina who is Piper's age...

Although it is cold, the sun is still shining so Piper has taken to wearing sunglasses in the car as the "moon" is "too bite".

Last night we had our friends the Ott's over for dinner.

It had been a while since we had seen them and we exchanged Christmas gifts with the kids. They gave Piper a princess throne and it came with a dress. In typical Piper fashion she had to put it on immediately.

I will leave you with a final picture of Piper. She found these in a drawer and wore them for an entire day...I thought she looked hilarious!

Have a great day!!
